Outlook 2013 – Automatically close messages after replying

If you prefer to open messages in a new window then you can configure Outlook to automatically close the message window after you reply or forward the message.

To do this, with Outlook 2013 open …

1. Click on the ‘File’ menu
2. Select ‘Options’
3. 
4. Click on ‘Mail’ on the left hand menu
5. Under ‘Replies and forwards’ place a tick next to the ‘Close original message window when repling or forwarding’ option
6. 
7. Click ‘OK’ to save the changes.
