Windows 10 – How to set File Explorer default location to ‘This PC’

The following steps detail how to change the File Explorer default location from quick access to ‘This PC’ (previously known as ‘Computer’ or ‘My Computer’).

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Click on the ‘View’ tab then the ‘Options’ button
  3. Windows10-FileExplorerDefaultLocationThisPC1
  4. Under ‘Open File Explorer to’ select ‘This PC’
  5. Windows10-FileExplorerDefaultLocationThisPC2
  6. Click ‘OK’ to save the changes.
  7. The file explorer will now display ‘This PC’ by default – including all your drives.
