Disable System Restore in Windows 7

System Restore is a feature in Windows 7 which allows you to restore your system if there are any issues.

If you don’t want to use this feature and would rather keep the free disk space it uses you can disable it by following the steps below.

  1. Click on the Windows (Start) button
  2. Right click on ‘My Computer’ and select ‘Properties’
  3. From the left hand menu select ‘System protection’
  4. Click on the ‘Configure’ button
  5. Select ‘Turn off system protection’ and click ‘OK’
